Science is a systematic study of the phenomena occurring in the world. It is a systematic and logical approach to discover how things in the universe work.


Scientific Method

The scientific method is a series of processes that people can use to gather knowledge about the world around them in a systematic way. This method involves making observations, forming questions, making hypotheses, doing an experiment, analyzing the data, and forming a conclusion.



CER- A Supporting Framework for Scientific Explanation


i. Claim - It is a statement of a student’s understanding about a phenomenon or a substance in his/her surrounding.
ii. Evidence – The explanation to support the claim comes from evidences. Such evidences can come from investigations.
iii. Reasoning – It illustrates the correct evidence to use in support of a particular claim

Scientific attitude

Scientific attitudes include:
a. Belief- He/she believes that everything that happens in this world has a cause or reason.
b. Curiosity- He/she shows interest and asks many questions: what, how, where, when, and why.
c. Objectivity- He/she considers pros and cons and all of the evidence available.
d. Honesty- He/she reports all evidence and acknowledges the work of others.
e. Willingness- He/she alters hypothesis, assumption and aims to work in the field of science and research work. etc.

Project based learning is an authentic learning activity that engage students' interest and motivation.


Use of Technology

Use of technology is being an effective method of preparing today's children for tomorrow's world.
